Bhubaneswar: Curfew has been extended till June 23 midnight in areas under Town Police station in Balasore Municipality.
The district administration also relaxed the curfew from 5AM to 2PM in these areas to facilitate people to buy essential commodities.
Similarly, the curfew has been relaxed from 5 AM to 9 PM in the areas under Sahadevkhunta police station.
Shops and Commercial establishments will remain open during this period.
Balasore District Collector Ashish Thakare said in an X post “Curfew to continue in areas under Town PS till 23rd June midnight with relaxation from 5AM to 2PM. Curfew to continue in areas under Sahadevkhunta PS till 23rd June midnight with relaxation from 5AM to 9PM.Commercial establishments/routine services operational during this period.”
Schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres, however, remained closed in the municipality areas.
All entry points to OT Road will remain closed.
The mobile internet has remained suspended while the internet will be available on lease lines, landline and broadband.
The curfew was imposed in the town on June 18 following a violent clash between two communities over allegations of cow slaughter.
