Bhubaneswar: Taking into account the incidents in the recent past, and the prevailing situation, the district administration of Sambalpur has imposed a curfew until further orders.
Upon receiving input on the current situation prevailing in the city, Sambalpur Sub Collector ordered Curfew under Section 144(1) of the CrPc.
No individual or group of people are to exit their houses so as to ensure peace and tranquility in the jurisdictional area of Town, Dhanupali, Khetrajpur, Ainthapali. Bareipali and Sadar – police limits of Sambalpur with immediate effect until further orders, the order stated.
“However, in emergency for procurement of any essential items may be made during the hours of 8.00 AM to 10.00 AM and 3.30 PM to 5.30 PM,” the official release read.
“Further for any medical emergencies a helpline is hereby declared. Citizens may reach out the District Headquarters Hospital helpline No.7655800760. It is also to take noted that, strict action as per law would be initiated against the violators of this aforementioned order,” the Sub Collector’s order stated.
