Currency Notes Soaked Due To Water Logging In Balasore Post Office

Balasore: A well-marked low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal has caused heavy rainfall across Odisha, leading to severe flooding in several areas. In Balasore town, the post office has been inundated and currency notes have been soaked. Waterlogging has been reported in homes, markets, shopping malls, and various government offices.

The flooding has disrupted normal life, causing difficulties for residents and businesses. A women’s college in the Nilagiri region has also been severely affected, with a classroom submerged in water.

Over 60 students were forced to take their exams while sitting in waterlogged conditions, raising concerns about safety and the need for a proper drainage system. The situation has also sparked fears of poisonous snakes entering the classroom.

The local administration has been urged to take immediate action to address the flooding and drainage issues in the affected areas.
