Cuttack: The patrol team of Chauliaganj Police Station (PS) under the Twin City Commissionerate Police apprehended four anti-socials who were engaged in illegal trading of arms and ammunitions.
As per a press note, the police team received reliable information that the four accused were coming from Jagatsinghpur side to Cuttack city in a grey colour Hyundai i20 car bearing Regd. No OD-02-BH-4255. They were on a mission to supply the fire arms and ammunitions to the criminals in the city.
When intercepted and personal search was conducted, five 9mm country-made pistols and fifty 9mm live ammunitions were seized besides the car and their seven mobile phones.
The accused persons are procuring illegal arms from different gunrunners of Munger district in Bihar. They are involved in this illegal trade and clandestinely supply the arms and ammunitions to the criminals in the districts of Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Nayagarh, Jajpur and Dhenkanal, stated the press note.
The four arrested persons have been identified as Sudhir Swain of Jagatsinghpur district, Sambit Nayak of Kendrapada district, Muna alias Manoj Behera and Dilu alias Bani alias Prabhakar Behera of Puri district.
