Cuttack: Cash, Ornaments Looted From House At Knife-Point

Athagarh (Cuttack):   As miscreants are on prowl now in Khuntuni area, they barged into a house in the night and made away with cash and ornaments while no male members were present.

The incident took place last night at Nuagaon under Khuntuni police limits of this sub-division. The crime was committed in the house of one Lachhman Rout when he was absent.

As per reports, a gang of six goons entered the house and intimidated the children at knife-point and fled the spot with the booty following which the villagers are in a state of panic.

In her media reactions, the aggrieved housewife said, “We were sleeping. They broke open the lock, woke us up and they threatened to kill our children. Also, enquired about my husband. When we resited, they hit us. My sister-in-law has been beaten up. They have looted my necklace, 3-4 golden chains, 5-6 golden rings, Rs 25,000 cash. The police came and have made enquiry into the matter.”

On being informed, Khuntuni police rushed there and initiated investigation.
Notably, such type of crime has already been committed at Dwarabatipur village a few days back while the criminals are still at large.
