Bhubaneswar: Former President of Cuttack Club and renowned Orthopedic surgeon Prof Manoranjan Mahapatra passed away at around 12.15 am today.
Mahapatra was the President of Cuttack Club for four terms. After completing his MBBS from SCB Medical College & Hospital in 1966, he had completed his Masters in Orthopaedics from Patna in 1968.
He joined the Odisha Medical Education Service (OMES) and was a popular teacher and surgeon. Though he took superannuation in 1999, Mahapatra was active in patients care till yesterday.
He was chairman of Odisha Orthopedic Association, President of IMA Cuttack and was active in OMTA and Lion’s Club. All the people associated with him have prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
