Bhubaneswar: A delegation of Cuttack District Congress Committee on Monday met Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhansu Sarangi and demanded transfer of Cuttack DCP Akhileshvar Singh accusing him of disturbing brotherhood and religious harmony in the city.

DCP Singh has landed into controversy for not inviting Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammad Moquim for Durga Puja preparatory meeting organised by Commissionerate Police on September 12.

The incident had vexed several puja committee members as while the local legislator was not invited to the meeting, the defeated candidate Debasish Samantray was present at the dais.

Following the disorder, Commissioner Sarangi assured the delegation that he has already contacted Moquim, will put forth the issue before the administration. He said that he will arrange a meeting with the legislator and resolve the matter prior to the festival.
