Bhubaneswar: A 44-year-old man in Cuttack city has tested positive for Covid-19 after showing flu-like symptoms such as cold and fever.
Following a blood test, the patient was confirmed positive and is currently under home quarantine and treatment, with his condition reported to be stable, Cuttack CDMO Prasant Hota informed. The patient has no travel history, he added.
Health officials are tracing his contacts to prevent further spread and have urged the public to remain cautious and follow health guidelines.
This is the latest case in a recent string of Covid-19 positive cases in the state, with four previous cases reported mostly from Bhubaneswar and Khurda.
Director of Public Health, Nilakantha Mishra, reassured that there is no alarming rise in cases so far and advised individuals with Covid symptoms, such as SARI and ILI, to consult their doctors and get tested if necessary.
