Bhubaneswar: The Chauliaganj Police have arrested second accused in the alleged gang rape of a 15-year-old girl for 22 days near Gatiroutpatna in Cuttack city.
The accused have been identified as Santosh Behera and Rakesh Rout. One after another the duo was arrested within 24 hours of reporting, tweeted twin city Commissioner of Police Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi.
His tweet added, ”In Chauliaganj PS Case No.353 dtd.13 Oct u/s376 DA,376(2)(n) IPC,6 POCSO Act…. Investigation will be completed early for both accused to stand trial & justice done.” The CP also congratulated the investigation team led by Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh.

Chauliaganj police rescued a minor girl who was allegedly gang-raped by two youths for around 22 days inside a poultry farm near Gatiroutpatna under Chauliaganj police limits on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Following the rescue, the minor girl was handed over to ChildLine and subsequently produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
