Cuttack: Fans, all clad in blue, descended to the Barabati stadium in huge numbers to cheer team India in the last and deciding ODI against West Indies.
While the match is scheduled to start at 1.30 pm, the entry to stadium began at 9 am. Before the teams arrive at about 12 pm, the fans with their quirky placard and posters were all ready to welcome Virat and Co.
Faces and body painted and clad in India’s bright blue jersey- the entire Barabati stadium seems to have been overtaken by the bright blue hue. Loud cheers of ‘India India’ could be heard from all corners with tricolours flying everywhere.
The stadium premises also have ‘I Love Cricket’ selfie zone which was brimming with people to click selfies.
Twin City Police Commissioner Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi was present at the stadium and was personally inspecting all the security measures before the teams arrived. He said, “We have worked hard with arrangements and have put up help desks in all galleries. Kindly seek help if you need any kind of help.” When asked about his personal view of the match he said, “I hope our team wins.”
