Bhubaneswar: A team of Cantonment police station under Cuttack Urban Police District (UPD) has nabbed two mobile phone looters from Jharkhand and West Bengal (WB).
The police have seized 90 mobile phones having a market value of around Rs 17 lakh from their possession.
Addressing a presser at Cuttack, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sheikh Sarifuddin said that the accused used to loot mobile phones during different fairs, functions and from bus passengers. Most of the seized mobile phones are costly smartphone devices, Sarifuddin added.
The accused were staying in rented houses within Laxmisagar police limits here identifying themselves as masons and daily wage workers.
They used to allegedly sell the looted mobile phones in other states.
