Cuttack: Six people have been detained by Badamba police in Odisha’s Cuttack district in connection with vandalising the Maniabandha police station and pelting stones at the residence of Maniabandha IIC late on Tuesday night.
According to reports, unidentified miscreants were consuming alcohol, dancing, and creating a nuisance in front of a hotel in Maniabandha on Tuesday night. On being informed, a police team led by Maniabandha Police IIC Kadambini Parida reached the spot and drove the miscreants away.
However, the miscreants returned late in the night and vandalised the Maniabandha police station. They also allegedly pelted stones at the rented house of IIC Kadambini Parida at Laxmidharpur Sahi and broke the glass window panes of the building.
Six youths were picked up and detained at the Badamba police station on Wednesday morning and interrogated. Ahtagarh SDPO Rabindra Kumar Mallik reached the spot with a police team to investigate into the incident.
