Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police in Cuttack has taken a proactive step to curb forced donation collection during the upcoming festival season. In line with the Orissa High Court’s directive to adopt a zero-tolerance policy on forcible collection of puja donations, the police have issued helpline numbers for citizens to report any such incidents.

Residents of Cuttack City can dial 7328077324, 8480513007, or 112 to report instances of forced donation collection in the name of Puja. The police have assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential, and strict action will be taken against those involved in such unscrupulous activities.

Citizens are urged to come forward and inform the police about any forced collection of donations, enabling the authorities to take strong action against those responsible, stated Cuttack DCP on social media.

“We urge the citizens of Cuttack City to come forward & inform as about any kind of forceful collection of Chanda in the name of Puja during ensuing puja festival. We will keep your identity confidential & take strong action against those unscrupulous elements for collecting Chanda” stated the X post.
