Cuttack: Police on Sunday recovered the body of a doctor from the house of one Hariprasad Mohanty, a retired doctor of ACB Medical Center, on the main road of Cuttack Chaulianganj opposite Silver City Hospital. The police action came after neighbours complained of a foul smell coming out of the deceased’s room.
The deceased has been identified as Maladi Venkat Chandrashekhar, a medical practitioner who had come to Cuttack from a southern state.
According to Krishna Chandra Sethi, ACP Zone 5, Chandrashekhar was last seen back by his landlord. He also did not go to work for the last three days. It is said that the deceased was not keeping well and died in his room three days back.
The police have sent the body for postmortem and are trying to contact his family members. However, the address on the deceased’s Aadhaar card is of the house he had rented long back. As a result, the police are yet to contact the family members of Chandrashekhar.
