Cuttack: As the urban homeless are the most to suffer during the coronavirus-induced lockdown and the weekend shutdown, a woman from Cuttack city of Odisha has been feeding some of them for the last two months.
True to her name, Mamata Nandi has made it a habit to cook food for the urban homeless in her city and deliver it to them personally. After preparing the food, she ventures out on the streets on her two-wheeler in search of the needy.
“Hunger doesn’t discriminate between the rich and the poor. As it is difficult for the poor to satisfy their hunger, I have cooked some food and came to feed them,” said Mamata.
