Bhubaneswar: The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has initiated an investigation into the disappearance of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy from the capital city, 30 hours after the child went missing.

The incident took place in front of Ram Mandir on Janpath Road near Kharvela Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar on Saturday night.

The matter came to the fore after mother of the toddler, a visually-challenged beggar, reported the matter to Kharvela Nagar police.

As per reports, CWC members have talked to the mother of the missing child. Besides, police investigation is underway to locate the child and arrest the accused. Three teams have been formed to investigate the case and airport, bus stands, railway stations, and major intersections are being thoroughly searched. Police are also scrutinizing CCTV footage from various locations to track down the accused.

Police are working tirelessly to reunite the child with his family whereas the visually-challenged is crying uncontrollably in front of the police station as she awaits news of her son’s safe return.
