Bhubaneswar: Cyber fraud amounting to over Rs 2.2 crore has been reported from Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD) during March this year.
The Bhubaneswar Cyber Crime Helpdesk has registered reports of various cyber frauds amounting to a total of Rs 2,20,17,869 from Bhubaneswar UPD during March this year, said an official press release.
Out of the aforementioned reported amount, Rs 1,54,58,129 amounted to fraud involving online trading and investment, Rs 65,59,740 amounted to fraud involving OTP, KYC and links.
The Bhubaneswar Cyber Crime Helpdesk registered a total of 405 complaints during the month of March this year.
Out of these complaints, 217 were UPI-related fraud, 83 were credit card/debit card-related fraud, 70 were social media-related fraud, and 27 were related to other fraud.
Out of the complaints received at the Cyber Crime Helpdesk, 14 cases were registered at the Cyber Crime & Economic Offence police station.
