Keonjhar: A team of the Cyber Police on Thursday busted a racket in selling SIM cards illegally and arrested four persons in this connection from Odisha’s Keonjhar district. According to the police, this SIM card racket was spread across the country and around 4,000 illegal SIM cards have been seized from different parts of the country.
Of the four arrested, three have been identified as Rajkishore Jena, Tapan Kumar Jena, and Subrat Kumar Jena of Khadibili village under Ghashipura police limits, Pradeep Mishra of Saikukul village under Ramachandrapur police limits.
The Cyber Police recovered Rs 5,000, 538 SIM cards, 18 mobile phones, and seven cheque books from the possession of the accused and seized them.
The raiding team was led by IPS officer Ramendra Pratap.
