Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport today at 2.20 pm today to conduct an aerial survey to assess the damage caused by Cyclone Amphan in the State. An itinerary released by the Prime Minister's Office stated the timings.
PM Modi will be accompanied by Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior officials during the survey. It will be followed by a review meeting of the ground situation at 5 pm in Bhubaneswar. The aspects of relief and rehabilitation will be discussed in the meeting. The PM and his crew will depart for Delhi at 6.15 pm.
Prior to Odisha visit, Modi will also visit West Bengal, where Cyclone Amphan made landfall, to assess the damage caused. At least 72 people were killed in West Bengal as Cyclone Amphan battered Kolkata and other districts.
