Bhubaneswar: While the severe cyclonic storm Bulbul is likely to make landfall near Sunderbans on Saturday, a group of fishermen from West Bengal are still stranded in the Bay of Bengal.

During a meeting with the Cabinet Secretary today, the West Bengal Government requested Odisha Government to rescue and provide shelter to fishermen coming in around 50 boats.

Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha, PK Jena said that these fishermen will touch the Dhamra coast. "We immediately acknowledged the request and have made necessary arrangements to provide these fishermen proper shelter," he said.

During a media briefing here on Friday, Jena added that tourists in the Bay of Bengal coast near Odisha - WB border have been advised to stay indoors. Balasore Collector has been directed to take necessary steps in this direction, Jena added.
