Bhubaneswar: All flights to and from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar will be suspended for some hours from 5.00 pm on October 24 till 9.00 am on October 25 in view of the impending Cyclone Dana.
BPIA Director Prasanna Pradhan informed that around 40 flights will be suspended during this period.
Further decision on the flight operations at the Biju Patnaik International Airport will be taken after assessing the post-cyclone situation, he said, adding that flight passengers should check the flight status before leaving for the airport.
Flight operations at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata will also remain suspended for several hours on October 24 and 25. According to the authorities at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, flight operations will remain suspended from 6.00 am on October 24 to 9.00 am on October 25 in view of the IMD’s warning on strong winds and heavy to very heavy rainfall at Kolkata under the influence of Cyclone Dana.
