Bhubaneswar: As Odisha Government has pulled up its sleeves and the massive evacuation of every precious life is on full swing, 604 pregnant women had been shifted to the safe shelters till the last report came in while 302 Rapid Response Teams have been deployed in the vulnerable districts by the Health Department.
Briefing media, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC)’s office spokesperson Krupasindhu Mishra informed, “As per the report received from the Health Department, 604 pregnant women have been evacuated and shifted over the Maa Gruhas.”
He added, “302 Rapid Response Teams, formed by the Health Department, have been mobilized in every vulnerable district. Each team comprises one doctor, one attendant and one pharmacist. While 32 teams have been deployed for Balasore district, 8 teams for Bhadrak, 14 teams for Cuttack, 9 teams for Dhenkanal, 87 teams for Ganjam, 8 teams for Gajapati, 9 teams for Jagatsinghpur, 11 teams for Jajpur, 28 teams for Kendrapada, 14 teams for Keonjhar, 23 teams for Khurda, 13 teams for Mayurbhanj, 22 teams for Puri and 24 teams for Nayagarh.”
“As per the Energy Department’s report, 50 gangs are ready for Puri district since the landfall is in Puri district. Each gang comprises 10 personnel. They will look after the power supply resoration. For other districts 500 gangs have been deployed. 200 gangs have been provided by the OPTCL while from other sources 300 gangs. About 15,000 electric poles of CESU, SOUTHCO, NESCO have been kept ready as standby for immediate restoration,” the SRC office spokeperson informed further.
He also informed, “18 ODRAF units have been deployed in different districts while 2 ODRAF units have kept on reserve. 25 NDRF units have deployed while 3 NDRF units have been kept standby.”
“In Puri district 2 ODRAF units and 3 NDRF units have been deployed, in Jagatsinghpur 2 ODRAF units and 3 NDRF units, in Kendrapada 2 ODRAF units and 3 NDRF units, in Balasore 2 ODRAF units and 2 NDRF units, in Bhadrak 2 ODRAF units and 2 NDRF units, in Ganjam one ODRAF unit and 2 NDRF units, in Khurda one ODRAF unit and 2 NDRF units, in Jajpur one ODRAF unit and 2 NDRF units, in Nayagarh one ODRAF unit and one NDRF unit, in Cuttack one ODRAF unit and one NDRF unit, in Gajapati one ODRAF unit and one NDRF unit, in Mayurbhanj one ODRAF unit and one NDRF unit, in Dhenkanal one one NDRF unit, in Keonjhar one NDRF unit and for Bhubaneswar one ODRAF unit has been deployed,” detailed the SRC office spokesperson.
