Cuttack: With a pledge to restore the city back to its previous state, the workers of Cuttack Municipal Corporation have been working relentlessly to ensure cleaner roads for sanitation and smooth flow of traffic.
Clearing the debris is an important part of the restoration and these workers dedicatedly work for more than 12 hours to do so, despite their own plight.
OMMCOM News reached out to these workers and one of them said, “I have to look after home which is damaged and my job as well because the Commissioner has ordered to do so. It is important to work to ensure I can arrange for the basic amenities to live”.
“We start working around 3 am and the work goes on till evening. If we don’t do our bit, who else is going to look after the needs to the public?” added another CMC worker.
They start with their work when everyone is asleep, and work throughout the day collecting residues from the roads and cleaning them so that the general functioning of the residents is not hindered.
These workers are giving away their comfort to bring about normalcy in the city and deserve appreciation for their tremendous effort. Despite being victims to the Cyclone Fani on May 3rd, they are available to serve the public.
