Cyclone Gulab Update: System Lies 25 Kms East Of Expected Landfall Point, Informs IMD

Bhubaneswar: Over the last 6 hours, Cyclone Gulab has approached closer to the coast of North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha, as the landfall process was underway. The landfall will continue for another one hour, the Met Department stated.

According to the Bhubaneswar centre of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), “The system is lying close to the coast and the centre is about 25 kms to the east of the expected landfall point.” The cloud bands touched coastal regions at around 6 pm on Sunday evening.

“During the last six hours, the system moved westwards with a speed of 20 kmph. The cyclone will gradually weaken after landfall and move nearly westwards,” the IMD further stated.
