Bhubaneswar: The Low Pressure Area over South Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal is very likely to move northwestwards, intensify into a Depression by the evening of May 7, and further into a Cyclonic Storm over eastcentral Bay of Bengal by the evening of May 8.
As informed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday, the system is very likely to continue to move northwestwards & reach Westcentral Bay of Bengal off north Andhra-Odisha coasts by May 10.
Under the influence of the above system, light to moderate rainfall is very likely at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Khordha, Puri, and Jagatsinghpur on May 10.
Gale wind speed reaching 65-75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph is likely to prevail over central parts of Bay of Bengal on May 9 and Gale wind speed reaching 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph is likely to prevail over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest & Eastcentral Bay of Bengal on May 10.
The sea condition is likely to become high over central parts of Bay of Bengal on May 9 and over Westcentral & adjoining Northwest and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal on May 10.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea area over the central Bay of Bengal on May 9 and 10 over Northwest Bay of Bengal on May 10.
