Bhubaneswar: The probable cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal on the evening of December 7 has no direct impact over Odisha, stated the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
As per the weather agency, the Deep Depression over Southeast and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal moved westnorthwestwards and lay centred at 0830 hours IST of today over Southwest and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal about 500 km east of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), about 630 km east-southeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka), about 690 km east-southeast of Karaikal and about 770 km eastsoutheast of Chennai.
It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further into a Cyclonic Storm around the evening of December 7 and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts by the morning of December 8.
It will continue to move westnorthwestwards towards north Tamil Nadu Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the subsequent 48 hours. The system has no direct impact over Odisha.
