Bhubaneswar: Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea and East Equatorial Indian Ocean moved east-northeastwards and now lies as a well marked low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea.
The system is likely to move nearly northwards along and off Andaman & Nicobar Islands, intensify into a depression by the morning of March 20, and into a cyclonic storm on March 21.
Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly north-northeastwards and reach near Bangladesh-north Myanmar coasts around the morning of March 22.
Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall or thundershower is very likely at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on March 19.
Light to moderate rainfall or thundershower is very likely at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Andaman Islands on March 20.
On March 21, light to moderate rainfall or thundershower is very likely at most places with isolated heavy rainfalls over Andaman Islands.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into southeast Bay of Bengal during March 19 to 21; into Andaman Sea and along & off Andaman and Nicobar Islands during March 19 to 22; into eastcentral Bay of Bengal on March 21 and 22 and into northeast Bay of Bengal on March 22.
