Bhubaneswar: The regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here has predicted the possibility of the formation of a cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal later next week. The cyclonic circulation may intensify into a depression resulting in a fresh bout of moderate rainfall in the southern regions of Odisha.
According to the IMD, a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over the South Eastern Bay of Bengal by November 14 and it is likely to take the form of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal by November 15.
While the cyclonic circulation is likely to advance in the south-eastern direction, later it may change its direction and head towards the northeast by November 16.
As a result of which, moderate rainfall is expected in the Southern parts of Odisha from November 15.
There is a low to moderate probability for the formation of a depression over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal during the first half of November’s second week (17.11.2023-23.11.2023), the IMD said.
