Bhubaneswar: All schools in Odisha’s Gajapati district, including primary, upper primary, high schools, and Anganwadi centers, will remain closed on Wednesday because of the cyclonic storm Michaung. Gajapati Collector Smruti Ranjan Pradhan has issued a notification in this regard.
“All the primary, upper primary, high schools, and Anganwadi centers shall remain closed on December 6, 2023,” the notification issued by the Gajapati Collector read.
It is worth mentioning here that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 cm to 20 cm) in five coastal districts of Odisha under the influence of the cyclonic storm Michaung, which is likely to make landfall on Andhra Pradesh coast on Tuesday noon. The Odisha districts that are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday include Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
