**Bhubaneswar:** With the cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ moving towards Odisha coast at a speed of 10 kmph, the regional office of India Meteorological Department (IMD) today has issued rain and thundersquall warning for 13 districts.
The warning has been issued for Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kandhanal and Rayagada districts.
As per the IMD’s latest bulletin light to moderate thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate to intense rainfall and squally wind reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over the mentioned districts between 9:30 AM and 01:30 PM.
Meanwhile, Red warning has been issued for Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara districts. The State Government has also announced closure of schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres in the said districts.
Four gates of Salandi Dam in Keonjhar have also been opened as water level of the reservoir is expected to rise further in view of the cyclonic storm.
The cyclonic storm is presently centred about 350 km southeast of Gopalpur. It is expected to move northwestwards and cross Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts between Gopalpur and Kalingapatnam on Thursday (October 11) morning.
Thereafter it is very likely to re curve northeast wards, move towards Gangetic West of Bengal across coastal Odisha and weaken gradually into a deep depression.
