Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Purendra Kumar Sethy, record supplier of Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) following unearthing of disproportionate assets (DA) worth lakhs of rupees from his possession during simultaneous house searches.
According to a press release issued by Odisha Vigilance today, Sethy was placed under arrest based on searches conducted on properties linked to him. During the searches, the accused was found in possession of disproportionate assets including one multistoried building measuring 10,880 sqft in Bhubaneswar, deposits to the tune of Rs 16.77 lakh, cash worth Rs 1.70 lakh, two four-wheelers, etc. for which he could not offer satisfactory explanation. Besides, 16 benami RORs (land pattas of different sizes of plots) were recovered from his possession and they are under verification.
Sethy will be forwarded to court today.
A case has been registered at the Vigilance Cell police station in this connection and investigation into the case is still underway.
