Sundargarh: Odisha Vigilance sleuths are conducting simultaneous searches at various locations in the state on Wednesday to unearth the disproportionate assets allegedly amassed by Ujjalpur Forest Range officer in Sundargarh district Sangram Keshari Manihira.
The Vigilance search party comprises five DSPs, eight Inspectors, two ASIs, and other staff and the searches are being undertaken on the basis of warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh. The searches are being carried out at five places in Sambalpur, Bolangir, and Sundargarh districts.
According to the Vigilance department, separate teams are searching a triple-storied house of Sangram Keshari Manihira at Mouza-Burla Town in Sambalpur district; another house of Manihira located at his native village Bahminipali in Bolangir; and a house of the forest ranger’s relative located at Nehru Nagar in Bolangir Town.
The Vigilance teams are also searching the office chamber of Manihira located inside the campus of Forest Range Office, Ujalpur Forest Range in Sundargarh; and his government residential quarter inside the campus of Forest Range Office, Ujalpur Forest Range in Sundargarh district.
As the searches are in progress, further details are awaited.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sri Manihira and his family members.
- During the raids cash worth Rs 1.57 lakh and the following assets were unearthed by the Vigilance sleuths.
- One triple-storeyed building on Plot No.3170, Khata No.235 at Mouza-Burla Town Unit No. 1 in Sambalpur.
- One single-storeyed building over Khata No. 618, Plot No.449, Mouza- Burla Town Unit No. 1, Sambalpur.
- One building over Khata No.618, Plot No. 448 and No. 449 at Mouza-Burla Town Unit No.01, Sambalpur.
- Five plots in the prime area of Sambalpur.
