Bhubaneswar: The world is full of inspiring persons and one among them is our very own Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange who hails from a humble background with his father working as a tailor while his mother was a daily wage earner.
Kulange had initially aimed to be a doctor but the major hurdle before him was his family’s income. Though he had achieved the academic qualifications he was not prepared to invest four to six years in medical school.
In order to become self-dependent and sustain his family, Kulange completed Diploma in Education (D.Ed) and became a primary teacher. He had also proposed to a girl during his youth days but was rejected. However, it helped him focus on his studies.
Later, Kulange decided to appear for the Civil Services examination. While continuing his regular work as a teacher, he used to study during his spare time in the morning and evening. His family supported him a lot during the preparation.
Finally, he cracked the Civil Services Examination. It was during his foundation training at Mussoorie that he recalled his struggles and success in life and penned it in a book ‘Aajcha Diwas Maza’ (Marathi).
The Odia edition of the book titled ‘Ajira Dinati Mora’ was released by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on July 6 this year. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that it should prove to be an inspirational book for the youths.
