**Damanjodi (Koraput):** Basing on the complaints lodged against seven teachers of Damanjodi Delhi Public School (DPS) by the victims of sexual abuse, local police on Tuesday evening arrested one librarian of the school while two teachers detained earlier for interrogation were also arrested on Wednesday and forwarded to court.
The arrested librarian who was forwarded to court same evening has been identified as Biswanath Barik while the two arrested English teachers are Dipty Prasad Panda and Siddharth Panda.
They used to resort to such deplorable acts allegedly for the last two years bringing blemish on the noble profession and maligning the age-old guru-shisya pious bond.
Notably, separate police complaints were filed by the Principal and the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) against seven teachers of the school on charges of sexual harassment meted out to several girl students.
The DCPO had earlier lodged the FIR at the Damanjodi Police Station on Friday night on the basis of written complaints made by the girl students dated July 19 when she had met them at the school on Saturday.
Also need to be mentioned that, the students of Damanjodi DPS on Monday in a surprising move had come forward in support of the accused teachers and had resorted to stir in the school campus. They had staged protest in front of their school in support of their teachers and had alleged that they were forced by the DCPO to sign in the complaint papers.
