Bhubaneswar: With the low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal intensifying into a deep depression by October 22 and further into a cyclonic storm by October 23, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted wind-speed of to-be affected areas for October 24 and October 25.
As per the IMD prediction, the IMD has issued a red warning to Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts which will experience 100-110 KMPH wind speed gusting to 120 KMPH.
Similarly, districts which have been issued orange warnings will witness 60-90 KMPH gusting to 100 KMPH. Districts such as Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda and Puri will experience 60-90 KMPH gusting to 100 KMPH.
That apart, IMD has issued a yellow warning to Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Boudh, Nayagarh and Ganjam districts and these districts will witness wind having speeds ranging from 50-60 KMPH gusting to 70 KMPH on October 24 and October 25.
According to IMD, squally wind speed reaching 40-50 gusting to 60 kmph is very likely to commence from October 23 morning over the north Bay of Bengal. It would gradually increase becoming gale wind speed reaching 100-110 kmph gusting to 120 kmph from October 24 evening to October 25 morning and decrease thereafter.
For along & off Odisha-West Bengal coasts, IMD predicted squally wind speed reaching 40-50 gusting to 60 kmph very likely to commence from October 23 evening. It would gradually increase becoming gale wind speed reaching 100-110 kmph gusting to 120 kmph from October 24 night till October 25 morning.
