**Bhubaneswar**: The Odisha government has decided to relocate the dumping yard at Bhuasuni in Daruthenga panchayat on the outskirts of the capital city to Tulsadeipur.
This was decided in a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary at the state secretariat here today.
The dumping yard will be relocated within a month, officials said.
However, it has made clear that the Waste to Energy Treatment Plant will be set up at Bhuasuni under Daruthenga panchayat as per the original decision.
“It has been decided to shift the dumping yard from Bhuasuni to Tulsadeipur in view of the public demand. However, the waste to energy plant will be set up there as per the directive of High Court. It also has environment clearance. We have taken a decision to set up the plant there and would, therefore, request the public to cooperate in that matter,” said Urban Development Minister Puspendra Singhdeo talking to reporters here after the meeting.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) mayor Anant Narayan Jena said the government will comply with any other order that the High Court may issue in the matter. “They (locals) have moved the High Court. If further direction comes, we will do accordingly. The dumping yard will be shifted within a month,” Jena said
Urban Development Minister Puspendra Singhdeo, Home Secretary, three MLAs of Bhubaneswar and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner were present at the meeting.
