Bhubaneswar: The maximum/day temperature breached 35°C in Bhubaneswar for the second time in February while, the mercury touched 35°C or above in at last 14 places in the Odisha on Sunday.
According to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, the state capital recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4°C during the day today.
Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district was the hottest place in the state as the maximum temperature soared to 36.6°C followed by Jharsuguda (36.2°C) and Angul (36.1°C).
The day temperature was 36°C in Bhawanipatna, Balangir, Titlagarh, and Boudh. Sambalpur and Sonepur recorded 35.7°C, while the maximum temperature was 35.8°C in Dhenkanal, 35.6°C in Hirakud, 35.5°C in Bhadrak and 35°C in Baripada.
The IMD has forecast that night temperature is likely to rise gradually by 2°C to 3°C, while shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur in several places in Odisha during the next few days.
