Dhenkanal: Armed miscreants attacked the manager of a private company and looted Rs 15 lakh in cash from him. The incident occured in broad daylight at Lodhani Branch of Odisha Gramya Bank (OGB) under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district.
The victim, Jayant Kumar Acharya works as a manager for last 7 years at Matrush Enterprises located in Bhalumunda. He comes to the Lodhani OGB regularly to deposit cash for the company. However, today, his pickup truck was accosted by four youths coming in two motorcycles.
They assaulted Acharya with sharp weapons, snatched the cash bag and fled from the spot. Acharya was rushed to the local PHC from where he was referred to Angul district headquarters hospital.
The victim is a native of Kateni village in Kundandeipur under Parjang police limits. A case has been registered on the basis of Acharya’s complaint, and manhunt launched to nab the robbers.
