Bhubaneswar: As the violence-hit Balasore town is limping back to normalcy, the district administration relaxed the daytime curfew in the civic body areas.

However, the curfew continues to be in force at night in Sahadevkhunta and Town police stations areas from 9 PM to 5 AM in the town, the district administration said in an X statement.

The administration requested the citizens to stay away from misinformation and fake news.

“As areas under Balasore Municipality gradually reclaim normalcy, daytime curfew has been relaxed. Night curfews continue to be imposed in areas under jurisdiction of both Sahadevkhunta PS & Town PS from 9PM to 5AM. Citizens are requested to stay away from misinformation & fake news,” stated the X handle of Balasore Collector.

The mobile internet and broadband internet has been restored, Collector Asish Thakare said.

The entire municipality was under a complete curfew since June 18 following a violent clash between two communities on the allegation of cow slaughter.
