Majhi had been admitted to the de-addiction centre three days back. Yesterday, authorities from the de-addiction centre called his family members that he has been admitted to the Capital Hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, his family members were informed that Majhi was dead.

After his post-mortem, the family members took his body and staged road blockade in front of the Regional Passport Office at Nayapalli alleging Majhi has been murdered as there are injury marks on his body.

While the road blockade was removed after intervention of police, Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said that the case is under probe and further action can be taken after arrival of the post-mortem report.
