Bhubaneswar: The decomposed body of a person who had gone missing for the last six days was recovered behind a school at Gobindpur under Barang police limits.

The deceased has been identified as Ambika Raut, a resident of Ramchandi village under Banki police limits.

According to reports, the body was found by Gobindpur women who had gone to relieve themselves in the area on Wednesday evening.

Upon being informed, police retrieved the body. Due to its decomposed state, identifying the body was challenging for police. However, the deceased’s son arrived at the scene and identified the body based on the pants his father was wearing.

The son stated that his father, who worked in Bhubaneswar, had left home six days ago, saying he needed to relieve himself, but never returned. The family had been searching for him since then.

According to the deceased’s son, his father had a history of substance abuse, which had taken a toll on his health. They had recently taken him to see a doctor, but his condition had improved temporarily. He had left home six days ago, saying he needed to relieve himself, but never returned.
