Koraput: In a remarkable display of dedication, Nandahandi Block Development Officer Khirod Chandra Sahu recently braved the treacherous terrain to visit Futaghar village under Jhadabandhaguda panchayat in Nabarangapur district to address their grievances.
Located in a hilly and inaccessible area, the village, home to 5 families, is reachable only by climbing a daunting 3 km hill.
This extraordinary gesture has put Sahu in the spotlight for his unwavering commitment to the people he serves. As the Block Development Officer, Sahu has made it a point to stay connected with the villagers, often going the extra mile to address their grievances and improve their lives.
During his visit, Sahu interacted with the villagers, enquired about their problems, and assured them of addressing their grievances. He had previously visited the village in 2023, soon after taking charge, and had resolved some of their issues.
On his recent visit, accompanied by officials from various departments, Sahu found that most of the villagers’ personal and basic problems had been resolved, except for one elderly person who was yet to receive old age pension. Sahu assured prompt action in this regard.
The BDO also inspected the hilly road leading to the village and found that a part of it had already been constructed. He assured the villagers that the remaining portion would be taken up soon, as funds had been sanctioned for the purpose.
Sahu’s people-centric approach has earned him recognition and admiration from the community. His efforts to bridge the gap between the administration and the people are a beacon of hope for those living in remote areas. As he continues to work tirelessly for the welfare of the people, Sahu remains an inspiration for many.
