Bhubaneswar: Deepali Das, daughter of slain former Health Minister Naba Das today reaffirmed her faith in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and said that she and her family will extend their support to whomsoever he announces as the candidate for the Jharsuguda bypoll.
“We have complete faith in the Chief Minister. Whomsoever he directs or wishes, our family will extend full support to that person,” said Das speaking to reporters.
Das said that today is a very emotional day for her and her family as on this exact date of 29th (29th of January) her father died and today the Election Commission announced bypoll to fill the vacancy created due to his death.
She said that the Chief Minister’s blessings like that of a father are with them.
She claimed that she and her family has the love and blessings of the people of Jharsuguda and were hopeful of giving a strong fight.
The Election Commission today announced holding the bypoll to the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency on May 10 which fell vacant after Naba Das’ demise.
