**Rayagada:** The members of Sohala Khanda Gauda Kula Samaj (community of milkmen) gheraoed the Gudari Tahsil Office with their cattle and ransacked the office demanding pasture land for grazing their cattle here on Wednesday.
The agitators came with their cattle and sit on fast unto death. The agitators started their sit-in protest by before the Tahsil office. Later, they barged into the Tahsil office and ransacked the window panes.
On being informed, local police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify them.
Notably, Gudari panchayat earlier had 13.409 acre of cattle grazing land but now it is limited to only 0.77 acre. The agitators are demanding the same amount of land back to the government records.
The Tahsildar was asked to give a written assurance to the agitators. It was also decided to demarcate the demanded pasture land in due course of time. By March 2018, the district administration will solve the problems.
After the assurance from the Tahsildar, the agitators withdrew the protest.
