Bhubaneswar: The demolition of MLA quarters in Unit-IV area of the Capital City for the proposed multi-storeyed building will commence from tomorrow, said Speaker of Odisha Assembly, Surya Narayan Patro, on Tuesday.
Patro informed that 42 F-type and R-type quarters will be demolished along with the existing police station, post office, railway office and Ayurvedic Hospital in the area.
The demolition will start from the quarters vacated by 24 MLAs and continue further. Multi-storeyed structure to accommodate 150 MLAs and many other people will be constructed on the land.
There will be an underground parking lot, gym, jogging track, swimming pool, garden and community hall on premises of the proposed structure. Besides, there will be guest houses, police station, hospital and other facilities for the MLAs.
Tender for construction of the said building will be floated by Govt. of Odisha undertaking Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation Limited (OBCC), said Patro.
