**Bhubaneswar:** As the deadly dengue is spreading its tentacles in the state recently and has already claimed three lives till date, Odisha Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak chaired a review meeting at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday.
The high level joint meeting was also attended by Urban Development Minister Pushpendra Singhdeo along with top officials of both Health and Urban Development departments.
It was decided that both the departments would work in close coordination to combat the menace prevailing in the state.
While Health Department will provide logistics support, Urban Development Department will take up the sanitation drive on a war-footing at the urban pockets affected by dengue.
An IAS officer Sachin Ramachandran Yadav has also been appointed as the nodal officer for monitoring the sanitation drive to be taken up by the Urban Development Department.
Briefing OMMCOM NEWS, the Heath Minister informed that till 11 am today (Tuesday) 797 blood samples have been tested dengue positive in the state while 130 patients have been admitted and undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the state and 22 patients admitted to Cuttack SCB Medical have already been discharged.
Urban Development Minister Pushpendra Singhdeo told media that a joint action plan has been prepared for a massive cleaning drive in the dengue-affected urban pockets in close coordination with the Health Department. Even NGOs will also be involved in this massive cleansing drive.
