Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man brutally killed his mother after she denied him money for liquor consumption at Sanadharpur under Narla police limits in Kalahandi district.
Police arrested the accused son Bhuban Biswal.
According to reports, the deceased, Kalpana, had received her pension money on Monday, and on Tuesday, Bhuban asked her for money to buy liquor. When Kalpana refused to give him the money, a heated argument ensued between the mother and son. In a fit of rage, Bhuban killed his mother with an axe.
After committing the crime, the accused reportedly locked himself inside his house.
Upon receiving the information, a team of police from Narla police station reached the scene, broke open the door and arrested the accused son. Police, meanwhile, seized the body and sent it for autopsy.
