Dense Fog Alert For 16 Odisha Dists Over Two Days, SRC Issues Advisory

Bhubaneswar: With India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing dense fog warning for 16 districts over the next two days beginning tonight, the Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC’s) office has issued an advisory for controlled plying of vehicles in these districts.

Quoting from IMD’s weather bulletin issued today, the SRC’s office said that dense fog is very likely to occur in the districts of Balasore, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Angul and Kandhamal from tonight till tomorrow morning.

Similarly, dense fog is very likely to occur in the districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Ganjam from Sunday night till Monday morning.

The SRC’s office in a circular issued to Collectors and SPs of the concerned districts has advised Police and Transport department officials to take necessary steps for controlled plying of vehicles on highways during dense fog to avoid any road accident.
