Bhubaneswar: Dense fog engulfed several places across Odisha on Friday morning reducing visibility drastically. According to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here, foggy weather prevailed in north and coastal Odisha today under the influence of the active depression in the Bay of Bengal region of coastal Odisha.
The dense for disrupted normal life, especially early office goers and school children, as public transport was few and far between. Due to the dense fog in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, shops and establishments opened very late, while driving vehicles became a hazard.
According to the weather office, the foggy conditions are likely to continue for another three days. The IMD has issued a warning for shallow to dense fog in 18 districts of Odisha for the next three days.
Meanwhile, Sundargarh, Balasore, and Keonjhar districts are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers till January 24.
