Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for January 25 and 26, predicting dense fog in several districts of Odisha.
According to the IMD forecast, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, and Cuttack on both January 25 and 26.
For January 25, IMD prediction reads: “Shallow to moderate fog is expected to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, Cuttack and at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.”
“Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, Cuttack and at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Kandhamal”, read the IMD prediction for January 26.
Residents of these districts are advised to exercise caution while travelling during early morning hours due to reduced visibility.
Meanwhile, the regional weather office has predicted a dry spell over Odisha, with no significant rainfall activity expected till January 30. Going by the weather forecast, the state will experience a prolonged period of dry weather, with clear skies and no precipitation.
